We, the workers of Industrial Molinera, C.A. showed up at
midnight on Thursday July 3rd, to work. We expected the
internal revenue service authorities to appear in order
to dismantle the closure seals after 10 days had gone by
since our company was illegally shut down. Those Internal
Revenue Service authorities never arrived.
The
damage perpetrated by the authorities is inmense. The
workers were unable to work, and ecuadorians were left
without flour, which in turn, increased prices.
The
internal revenue service will, consequently, be unable
to collect IVA taxes, and taxation at the source, since
during the closure time lapse, the company is incapable
of conducting any activity at all, the workers are not
allowed to work, produce, deliver flour or show proof
of our taxation point of view to the proper authorities
and tribunals.
The
people of Ecuador are the main losers. Enough of political
persecution. The only ones who stand to lose are the workers,
the state and the people of Ecuador.
Kindly,
Gustavo Negrete Ugalde
General Manager
