FOR OVER 25 YEARS I HAVE FOUGHT, TOGETHER WITH ANNABELLA, FOR MY IDEALS
In the PRIAN Assembly that nominated Annabella Azín as a Vicepresidential Candidate, Counselor Álvaro Noboa underscored his political struggle together with his wife.
As a companion in arms to Dr. Annabella Azín de Noboa, who together with me has struggled to eradicate poverty, to generate employment, to give social service, to combat corruption and so that all Ecuadorians become transformed into a strong middle class, I feel deeply proud that this Assembly has, by acclamation, named my companion in arms and adored wife as the candidate for Vice-President of the Republic.”

Wilson Sánchez: I call on the delegates of the National Electoral Council present here, to verify the acceptance of our candidate for Vice-President of the Republic of Ecuador.
Wilson Sánchez: Doctor, do you accept the PRIAN candidacy?
Annabella Azín: Good evening, members of the National Electoral Council, members of the Directive, our PRIAN leader, Counselor Álvaro Noboa, Directors of all the parishes, Directors of other movements and parties present here.
As I have said before “I am just one more PRIAN soldier,” always ready to work for my party, for the objective of getting Ecuador out of poverty, of there being better opportunities for work, for higher level and technical education, for universal healthcare, for security for everyone, for peace, harmony among all Ecuadorians and care for our environment.
I am grateful to the Directors of the party; to our leader Attorney Álvaro Noboa, with whom I have shared 25 years together and 15 years of political struggle before the PRIAN and now in the PRIAN, for having thought of me. I am sure that this very kind nomination is the reflection of my social work in the Medical Brigades, of my political work together with my party and with the understanding I have with the Ecuadorian people, especially with the most vulnerable sector, which is the sector that requires healthcare, and with the disabled. Therefore, it is with great happiness, pride and with great commitment that I accept the candidacy for Vice-President of the Republic of Ecuador as Counselor Álvaro Noboa Pontón’s running mate. This represents a great commitment to me, that of continuing to work arduously in the social arena and in all those roles that the President of the Republic delegates to me. I am ready to collaborate as I have always done.
I accept this candidacy in the name of Ecuadorian women, in the name of poor women, of single-mothers, of women who have been marginalized, in the name of migrant women, Indian women, women from the sierra, from the coast, mestiza women, Afro-Ecuadorian women, women from the peninsula, and of the islands, in the name of all those women who have put their hopes in another women who knows their problems, and who throughout the years has worked for their wellbeing and for the health of their children.
May God bless me, and may God bless the PRIAN and all of you, and may He give me the strength to carry out in the best possible way this candidacy.
Álvaro Noboa: As a companion in arms to Dr. Annabella Azín de Noboa, who together with me has struggled to eradicate poverty, to generate employment, to give social service, to combat corruption and so that all Ecuadorians become transformed into a strong middle class, I feel deeply proud that this Assembly has, by acclamation, named my companion in arms and adored wife as the candidate for Vice-President of the Republic.
I hope that she, among all the tasks that she will have as Vice-President of the Republic, will support me especially in the social care arena. We are going to strengthen the social gains that Economist Rafael Correa has achieved during his mandate, but beyond them, we are going to develop employment, a great economic power, and to fight against crime and corruption.
All social gains achieved by the Ecuadorian People achieved by this government will be respected by my government, but, finally, the poor of Ecuador will be able to have a cement-constructed house, a car, thanks to the economic development that we are going to achieve via investment, via free trade agreements, via a free market and thanks to raising the educational level of Ecuadorians to technical degree and university degree level.
An Ecuadorian with a better level of knowledge learned in the very same companies that we are going to bring to Ecuador. A level of knowledge learned in the technical schools and a level of knowledge learned in the universities. You will finally be able to take massive part in the wealth of this country and with salaries of $1,000, $2,000, and $3,000 dollars you will be able to receive the loans necessary to buy modern, cement-constructed houses, automobiles and to afford the education of your children.
Annabella – in every conversation with the other political parties that have wanted an alliance, all have asked that Annabella be my Vice-Presidential candidate. The Sociedad Patriótica requested it; Mauricio Rodas requested it; Guillermo Lasso would have wanted it, but Annabella is not going to be their Vice-Presidential candidate: she is going to be our Vice-Presidential candidate because her career in social service is beyond that of many Ecuadorians, because she has won this position thanks to her intelligence and her immense heart.
May God bless everyone. Glory to God and long live Ecuador!
