I’VE SPENT 14 YEARS FIGHTING TO ERADICATE POVERTY
“Transforming Ecuador into a country where poverty is eradicated is a misión that can take me my whole life, and not just mine, but that of Annabella, as well.”
With that message, Álvaro Noboa gave proof of his 14-year fight to eradicate poverty.
“If after 200 years of being a Republic, more than half of Ecuador is still in a state of absolute poverty, 14 years are nothing in order to get Ecuador out of and to eradicate 200 years of poverty.”
“LET’S FIGHT TOGETHER IN THIS MISSION EVEN IF IT TAKES US OUR WHOLE LIVES”
ÁLVARO NOBOA ON THE ALLIANCE
WITH THE FREEDOM, JUSTICE AND DEMOCRACY MOVEMENT
Álvaro Noboa: May God be with us. I declare open this Popular Assembly whose idea is to confirm the alliance between the Freedom, Justice and Democracy Movement, whose leader is Juan Carlos Machuca, who was just a few signatures short of qualifying the movement as a party, and within this alliance, it has been resolved that he will run for List 7 as National Assembly Member.
Every day we have visits from different national movements who want to join into this electoral challenge to reach the Presidency, by Annabella Azín de Noboa as Vice President. as well as Álvaro Noboa, President. And also to get Juan Carlos Machuca to the Assembly with the proposal to achieve work and more work; to give freedom back to the Ecuadorian people, to obtain justice in the Courts and that there not be any more interventionism on the part of the Executive, or his influence in the Court; and a return to democratic life, according to PRIAN ideology and the ideology of the Freedom, Justice and Democracy Movement.
In life, anything is possible if the right effort is made. I have been fighting for 14 years to eradicate poverty in Ecuador — and I want to say to the people of Ecuador that I feel very proud of Luis Noboa Ycaza who heads the list of Assembly Members for District 3 – those are 14 years of my life getting Ecuador to transform itself into a wealthy country where the poor of Ecuador are transformed into middle-class citizens. Transforming Ecuador into a country where poverty is eradicated is a mission that might take me my whole life, and not only just my life, but also a similar effort on the part of Annabella, who has accompanied me in this struggle. So, if we see it as history, if after 200 years of being a Republic, more than half of Ecuador is still in a state of absolute poverty, 14 years are nothing in order to get Ecuador out of and to eradicate 200 years of poverty. We will fight together for this goal, if it takes us our entire lives. And with this, I invite Mr. Juan Carlos Machuca to talk directly to all of you.
Juan Carlos Machuca: Thank you very much, Álvaro. With your permission, and that of Annabella, I would like to thank you and to ask for a round of applause for you, because you are the ones who provide us the impetus to continue in this fight. Today, I announce to the sovereign people of Ecuador that Freedom, Justice and Democracy, is merging with the PRIAN, List 7, and this brilliant and spectacular ticket which is Álvaro Noboa Pontón and our dear Dr. Annabella Azín de Noboa. We merge because we are the inheritors of a free and sovereign country, of all those ancestors who fought, from the slopes of Pichincha, from the majestic Andes, from the profound blue sea, from the Peruvian-Ecuadorian war, the CENEPA, from Mayaicu, from Machinaza, from Tiwintza, from Cóndor, from Lieutenant Hugo Ortiz now, on September 30, heroes who spilled their blood to give us freedom, justice and democracy. And we merge so that they never again try to take from the people what belongs to the people, and from God what is God’s, because your sovereign voice is the voice of God. May God bless the sovereign people of Ecuador. A very good day to you.
Álvaro Noboa: Now I give the word to Dr. Annabella Azín, the next Vice-President of the Republic.
Annabella Azín: Juan Carlos, I welcome your movement, Freedom, Justice and Democracy, to the PRIAN. I am sure that by uniting forces we are going to win, we are going to move forward, and you will be elected Assembly Member in our list. I would like to say to all the followers of Freedom, Justice and Democracy, that your fight is the same as our own and that we are in complete agreement with your ideals, we are pursuing the same ideals. I invite you to accompany us, to merge together and to work with all of you together with the PRIAN to move these elections forward and the win in the elections next February.
