The PRIAN leader, Álvaro Noboa, in his party’s Assembly, reaffirmed his decision to eradicate poverty.
“We are going to strengthen the social gains that Economist Rafael Correa has achieved during his mandate, but beyond them, we are going to develop employment, a great economic power, and to fight against crime and corruption.”
Noboa made very clear that all the social gains achieved by this government will be respected under his government.
“But, finally, the poor of Ecuador will be able to have a cement-constructed house, a car, thanks to the economic development that we are going to achieve via investment, via Free Trade Agreements, via a free market and thanks to raising the educational level of Ecuadorians to technical degree and university degree level.”

Álvaro Noboa: As a companion in arms to Dr. Annabella Azín de Noboa, who together with me has struggled to eradicate poverty, to generate employment, to give social service, to combat corruption and so that all Ecuadorians become transformed into a strong middle class, I feel deeply proud that this Assembly has, by acclamation, named my companion in arms and adored wife as the candidate for Vice-President of the Republic.
I hope that she, among all the tasks that she will have as Vice-President of the Republic, will support me especially in the social care arena. We are going to strengthen the social gains that Economist Rafael Correa has achieved during his mandate, but beyond them, we are going to develop employment, a great economic power, and to fight against crime and corruption.
All social gains achieved by the Ecuadorian People achieved by this government will be respected by my government, but, finally, the poor of Ecuador will be able to have a cement-constructed house, a car, thanks to the economic development that we are going to achieve via investment, via free trade agreements, via a free market and thanks to raising the educational level of Ecuadorians to technical degree and university degree level.
An Ecuadorian with a better level of knowledge learned in the very same companies that we are going to bring to Ecuador. A level of knowledge learned in the technical schools and a level of knowledge learned in the universities. You will finally be able to take massive part in the wealth of this country and with salaries of $1,000, $2,000, and $3,000 dollars you will be able to receive the loans necessary to buy modern, cement-constructed houses, automobiles and to afford the education of your children.
Annabella – in every conversation with the other political parties that have wanted an alliance, all have asked that Annabella be my Vice-Presidential candidate. The Sociedad Patriótica requested it; Mauricio Rodas requested it; Guillermo Lasso would have wanted it, but Annabella is not going to be their Vice-Presidential candidate: she is going to be our Vice-Presidential candidate because her career in social service is beyond that of many Ecuadorians, because she has won this position thanks to her intelligence and her immense heart.
