Mr. Rafael Correa, I have requested a video conference meeting with you since I am unable to travel to Ecuador due to medical reasons. I have a small back problem and the doctors have advised me not to travel for a few months. At this video conference, I will present to you a proposal to resolve the tax case and subsequent lawsuit for 2005 against Exportadora Bananera Noboa in such a way that the Ecuadorian state, represented by the Ecuadorian tax Administration, will receive fresh funds from the aforementioned proposal; that the company will continue to operate for the coming 50 years as it has been doing up to now. Furthermore, with our proposal the Hacienda La Clementina workers and all other workers, which in one way or another, benefit from this business will maintain their job positions and social benefits which they have enjoyed and will therefore continue to receive.
There are still motions to be resolved before the Judiciary function, and before the Ecuadorian Tax Administrationwhich could expedite the implementation of this proposal.
For this purpose, it is necessary to postpone the auction of the Hacienda La Clementina scheduled for December 4th of 2013, and, through our conversation we could reach an intelligent solution to the benefit of Exportadora Bananera Noboa and our country.
Furthermore, my wife Ms. Annabella Azin de Noboa has requested, together with my son Juan Sebastian Noboa Azin, a meeting to present to you the aforementioned proposal drawn up by Exportadora Bananera Noboa. I trustyou will be a gentleman toconsider and accept the request of a virtuous and patriotic Lady, like my wife.I would do the same, immediately, if your wife were to request a meeting with me.
ALVARO NOBOA
