Statement from Álvaro Noboa. February/2015
The Noboa Group is a multinational company that does business in different parts of the world and at the same time, these businesses have accounts in different banks worldwide.
These businesses fulfill their tax and duty obligations to the tax authorities of the country they are made.
These businesses are continuously monitored and there is no claim anywhere in the world about tax evasion.
I also make clear that I am not necessarily the owner of these businesses throughout the world, many of them of 70 years of age.
I, Alvaro Noboa, Ecuadorian, 64 years old, personally do not have or have had accounts at the HSBC.

-Attorney, good afternoon, who do you think is behind this kind of investigation?
First, we must clarify that this kind of research is made by Swiss Leaks; ie, is an investigation made by a group of “friends.” There is no authority involved, nor of Ecuador, or Europe, or anywhere in the world.
Are they anonymous then?
Yes, if you search the website, it says Swiss Leaks, but we see no responsible. But here everything is rapidly diffused, I decided to clarify this up so this news is not changed or is difussed differently from the truth.
Do you think social networks have been badly used as the source is not consulted, in this case you?
I do not want to criticize. I am with God, I am devoted to God, from now on tothe rest of my life and I will serve Ecuador. Even as a president if economist Correa (president of Ecuador) authorizes it through the National Electoral Council.
How do you find yourself at a global enterprise level?
Well, working; I keep receiving invitations from all over the world. Here for example I have an invitation by Fidel Castro, with whom I spoke in New York. He invited me and another group of businessmen worldwide to the house of a friend of mine to invest in his country (Cuba). So do not be surprised if Fidel Castro invites me to invest in his country, in the same way they invite me inEurope, Asia and America.
If you remember, when I won the presidency in the ´98, my mate, the candidate for the vicepresidency, Alfredo Castillo, was a socialist, I guess that Fidel Castro saw that favorably.
I would invest in that country once all claims by human rights and other issuesraised by the governments of the US and Europe are solved, because it is a very good country for tourism, is a very good country for agriculture and I have many Cuban friends in the world.
