THE LACK OF UTILITY SERVICES KEEPS THE INHABITANTS OF PUERTO BOLÍVAR IN DISPAIR

Neither the sun nor the rain was an impediment for Alvaro Noboa, leader of the Adelante Ecuatoriano Adelante party, and Sylka Sánchez (candidate for National Assemblywoman), Antonio Noboa, Diego Arteaga, Heydi Illescas and Carlos Mera (candidates for Assembly members representing the province) to make their trek through various sectors of El Oro province.

Yesterday afternoon, Noboa and his team were in Puerto Bolívar, Machala county, where they could see the precarious situation in which the inhabitants live. Unpaved dusty streets, lack of sewerage systems, lack of utility services, insecurity, micro-trafficking, and unemployment were some of the complaints made by those who are tired of this situation.

“As you can see, humble people who do not even have money to buy a small cane house live in Puerto Bolivar. We have been forgotten by the local authorities, the mayor. People that come here and step on this mud is feeling what we need, and we need a change for Puerto Bolivar, in every aspect, because it is the time that we do not walk in the mud,” said Pedro Solorzano.

Distressed by the hundreds of complaints he hears on a daily basis during his travels, Alvaro Noboa promised that together with the candidates for legislators, they would work to create fair laws that will benefit Ecuadorians and help them to get out of the precarious situation in which they live.

“There is a lack of employment, a total abandonment of Puerto Bolivar; there are no paved streets, houses are made of weak materials, there is no access to university education as it should be. That is why Ecuadorians I ask you to vote for us in the next elections of February 19, to solve these and other problems, which harass this country, such as drugs, corruption, and health problems,” he said.
